Accounting Information System

An accounting information system is a system that a corporation will implement for its daily, quarterly and annual financial activities. Most companies will have this system set up for accounts receivable functions, accounts payable functions and general accounting functions. It is considered to be a management system because it helps senior level officers and managers make financial decisions based upon transactions and reports. It is also considered a transaction processing system because it allows for accounts receivable and accounts payable to function alongside general accounting functions.
